Vegan in Como mountains - Orimento, Monte Generoso

If you're up walking in the mountains, then just off lake Como, in Orimento, the italian side of Monte Generoso, there is a restaurant called "La Baita di Orimento" up at almost 1300m. They don't have any vegan marked options on their menu, but they are super kind and make vegan meals on request.  I have eaten here so many times vegan lunch, they're only open for lunch time. The options depends on the season and everythings been really wonderful! It's a rustic, local mountain place so that's the typical style of food. Last weekend, we were here and had a lovely vegan porcini mushroom risotto because porcini mushrooms are in season now :) For dessert some fresh berries!

This restaurant is reachable by car, and then there are walking paths to walk in the beautiful surrounding mountains & higher up Monte Generoso. You can see lake como and lake lugano/ lake ceresio from some points! Just FYI there are some farms around this area with sheep, cows, goats, horses grazing in electric fenced fields so just to let you know that.

The bisbino horses wander freely in the mountains here in the summer time, which is absolutely beautiful <3  If you like you can read about them here: http://cavallidelbisbino.com/   

There is also a restaurant at the top of Monte Generoso called Fiore di Pietra, where I have also found a vegan option in their buffet, I will make a post on that also :-)  That one is reachable only on foot or by a mountain train, up at an altitude of 1700m.
